Jan 20, 2015
2015 is in full force, and January is almost over! How are you doing with your New Year’s resolutions? If you wanted to eat healthy this year, don’t give up just yet. We have four easy tips to make eating right become a real part of your lifestyle.
1. Don’t skip breakfast!
They don’t call it “the most important meal of the day” for nothing. Eating a healthy, balanced diet jumpstarts your metabolism and can determine your entire day of food choices. Without it, you tend to feel hungry all day, which can lead to overeating.
2. Everything in moderation.
Don’t overcomplicate things by swearing off certain foods completely. You’ll end up just wanting them more! Instead, gradually reduce the portion sizes of the junk food you’re eating, as well as how often you indulge in them. Cut it down to once a week, or even once a month if you’re feeling ambitious!
3. Don’t drink you calories.
When in doubt, drink water. Not only does it hydrate your body and make you look AND feel better, but it doesn’t have the empty calories and amount of sugar found in drinks like soda.
4. Snack on fruit.
Let’s face it – between meals, you sometimes need a pick-me-up. Instead of a sweets or a bag of chips, pick up an apple or banana. The natural sugar will give you the extra energy you need to beat that afternoon grogginess without undoing your whole day.
